Hawaiian Pink snapper is another name for this popular tropical Pacific snapper species which is primarily caught off the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and is marketed through the Honolulu Fish Auction. Opakapaka has light pink flesh with an almost translucent appearance and a mild, sweet, and ocean-fresh flavor. We only source it from Hawaii where it is caught with vertical hook-and-line gear which results in minimal impact to the marine ecosystem.
